What is structural amnesia in life sciences AI?

Structural amnesia is when data flows across systems without provenance and context. Unlike clinical or neurological amnesia (memory loss in individuals), structural amnesia is an organizational problem in life sciences and healthcare: systems store data but lose the context and provenance as information moves between them.

When a regulated decision needs to be defended, people must dig through system after system to reconstruct what happened.
